The Farmers’ Times is a special event newspaper published by Canada’s dairy, chicken, turkey, egg and hatching egg farmers and distributed at our Downtown Diner event on June 1, 2017. This publication offers the most up-to-date news on these industries and the system of supply management.
Egg Farmers of Canada commissioned Ipsos Reid to survey municipal government leaders in all provinces and territories on their awareness of and support for supply management. The majority of mayors and reeves surveyed believe Canada’s supply management is very important for ensuring food safety (71 %) and fair returns for Canadian food producers (70 %).
The 2009 Cost of Production project to survey and update the cost of producing a dozen eggs in Canada was conducted on behalf of the Egg Farmers of Canada between December 2009 and December 2010 by The Thomsen Corporation.
