Eggs near you in 2018

This year is shaping up to be a great one for eggs! We’re gearing up to celebrate everything that makes them great. And we’ll be doing so with plenty of unique and exciting events across the country. So, take out your calendars and get ready to save the dates on these egg-citing events!

February 13: Canada’s Agriculture Day

Winter may still be in full swing, but so is Canada’s agricultural sector as it prepares to showcase the diverse and greatly important work it does to feed Canadians from coast to coast. And no surprise: it’s an important day for Egg Farmers of Canada as well, as it’s the perfect opportunity to showcase what egg farmers do for communities and the economy. Talk about a great reason to celebrate!

February 23: Canadian Young Farmers’ Forum Annual Conference

Undoubtedly, the next generation will have a profound impact on the future of Canada’s agricultural industry—precisely why the Canadian Young Farmers’ Forum (CYFF) is a vital opportunity to connect young, interested people from across the agriculture industry. The young leaders in Egg Farmers of Canada’s national young farmer program will be joining other young farmers to take part in the CYFF conference. It features a roster of impressive speakers, and there’s no doubt participants will walk away feeling inspired!

March: Agriculture Literacy Month

We’re proud to partner with an incredible organization called Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada, or AITC-C for short. They are the leaders in delivering Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month in classrooms across the nations. Too many Canadian students are deprived of the chance to explore the world of agriculture, and all the amazing opportunities it can provide—not to mention how vital it is to our everyday life! Events and activities in schools teaching kids the importance of agriculture run throughout the month of March. Since 2012, AITC-C has delivered this program to over 120,000 students through reading, videos, live stream events and—of course—meeting with farmers.

October 12: World Egg Day

This is the big one—a time when egg lovers across the globe celebrate one of the greatest and most versatile foods around. In 2017, festivities in Canada involved partnering with Breakfast Club of Canada to raise awareness about the importance of breakfast by sharing some of our favourite egg puns on social media using #CrackAYoke. Stay tuned to learn more about how Canada will join in the 2018 World Egg Day celebrations!
