Celebrating eggs and egg farmers on World Egg Day

The Coburn family of Keswick Ridge, New Brunswick. The Jennings family in Nova Scotia. The Krahn brothers in Abbotsford, British Columbia and the Hayes family in Tilsonburg, Ontario. What do they have in common? They’re Canadian egg farmers—and they’re celebrating World Egg Day on October 11. It’s an annual celebration of the humble egg and the farmers who produce them to world-class standards. Canadian farmers produced 752 million dozen eggs in 2018 alone!

One Canadian marking the occasion this year is legendary Chef Lynn Crawford. Chef Lynn is truly an egg superfan, having described eggs as “the perfect food.”1

“Frankly, I don’t know what we would do without Canadian egg farmers,” Chef Lynn has said.

“Eggs are healthy, they’re nutritious, they’re amazing, they’re delicious, brought to you by these amazing farmers.”

For World Egg Day this year, we’ve once again teamed up with Chef Lynn to introduce Canadians to some of these amazing farmers bringing you the eggs you love. Check out the video below and meet some of these extraordinary Canadians.

You can celebrate too, by sharing the video and why you love eggs and egg farmers using the hashtag #WorldEggDay. Celebrate on the big day with an egg, or two or three!
