This World Gratitude Day, we’re grateful… for you!
By Egg Farmers of CanadaA few smart people came up with a wonderful idea in 1965.1 They wanted to mark a holiday for an underappreciated idea: gratitude. So, they declared September 21st to be World Gratitude Day. Lo and behold, the idea has spread around the world.
What could be better than a little more gratitude in our everyday lives? For one thing, science has shown the enormous benefits of gratitude. It empowers deeper, more meaningful relationships, makes you mentally and physically healthier, improves your self-esteem… it even helps you sleep!2
While it may take enormous effort to slow down, take a breath and realize how much we’re thankful for, we’re going to do it—because we have so much to be grateful for!
So, what are egg farmers grateful for? First and foremost, we’re grateful for all those Canadians who love our eggs! We’re also grateful that Canadians are supportive of Canadian egg farmers, their friends and neighbours. In fact, the vast majority of Canadians agree that it is important the eggs they purchase are produced in Canada.3 In fact, almost all Canadians share a belief in the importance of Canada remaining a food-producing country.4
This support from Canadians is overwhelming. And it makes us want to shout from the rooftops—Canada, we love you. Our farmers take great pride in delivering fresh, local eggs and our farmers wouldn’t trade their jobs for the world. They love the product, they love the farm, they love working with their families… but they also love serving Canadians.
This World Gratitude Day, we are grateful for you. We’ve got a little treat for you coming September 21st. So keep an eye out for it by following us on Twitter or Facebook, or coming back to this website. We can’t wait to show you how thankful we are!
