Egg Farmers of Canada: Supporting young Canadian farmers
OTTAWA, February 13, 2014 – Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is looking forward to joining young farmers from across the country in Calgary for the Growing Connections conference, an event EFC is sponsoring for the first time.
The conference, hosted by Canadian Young Farmers’ Forum (CYFF), will gather close to 160 young farm leaders to share and discuss agriculture, celebrate achievements of the sector and to learn from each other.
“This partnership will help us realize a goal of empowering and nurturing the next generation of Canadian agriculture leaders, and build within this group an understanding of our industry’s history”, said Tim Lambert, Chief Executive Officer of EFC.
EFC is also proud to see several of their young egg farmers take part in the conference. Chairman Peter Clarke will address the young farmers and speak to the value of supply management and the future of the Canadian egg industry.
“Supply management has been the system at the heart of our industry for the past 40 years and it is of great importance to us to share this success story with the next generations of farmers”, added Tim Lambert.
“The CYFF is honoured to welcome EFC as a new sponsor to the Conference and we are looking forward to meeting the egg farmers delegate for the first time”, said CYFF General Manager Guenette Bautz. “It is truly a one of a kind event with a professional yet relaxed setting for all the young farmers.”
The Growing Connections young farmer conference will take place from February 14 to 17, 2014.
