Learn more about what makes Canadian eggs special
OTTAWA, October 11, 2024 – Today is World Egg Day, a celebration honouring eggs and their ability to unify people from all corners of the globe. To mark the occasion, Egg Farmers of Canada is shining a spotlight on the country’s more than 1,200 egg farmers and the work they do every day to produce fresh, local, high-quality eggs for Canadians to enjoy year-round.
“Eggs are truly the perfect food. They are protein-packed and offer endless ways to make healthy meals,” said Roger Pelissero, third-generation egg farmer and Chair of Egg Farmers of Canada. “World Egg Day is an important occasion to celebrate the incredible egg and the hardworking farmers who produce them. From farm families who are carrying on the farming tradition to young people who are starting to build their own legacy, egg farmers work every day with a sense of pride and gratitude for being part of a sector that feeds Canadians and their families.”
