Egg Farmers of Canada: One of the top employers in Ottawa

OTTAWA, February 5 2014 – Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) has been named as a National Capital Region Top Employer for 2014, an honour the organization is receiving for the second year in a row.

Based in Ottawa and with a staff of about 50 employees, Egg Farmers of Canada has been a reputable employer for the past 42 years.

Tim Lambert, Chief Executive Officer of EFC, is proud of this recent announcement. “Our employees support 1,000 family egg farms across Canada so it is a priority to ensure we have a high performing team that can meet the needs of our farmers, represent our industry and rise to the challenges,” said Lambert.

Staff achievements are highlighted with yearly awards. The Good Egg Award is given to a staff member who displays qualities that his or her colleagues admire, while the Get Cracking Award is given to the employee who is making a positive difference through their volunteer efforts within his or her community. In order to further support volunteer activities EFC provides paid time during the work day for employees to volunteer at charitable organizations.

“Our involvement in our community is a priority. Supporting the CIBC Run for the Cure is a good example of our commitment. We also have a partnership with many food banks across the country and we sponsor many events throughout the year,” added Tim Lambert.

EFC has competitive compensation and benefits and gives extra-long weekends to the employees during the summer months. Employees have access to a fully equipped onsite fitness room, underground parking as well as a roof top patio. EFC also offers onsite language training and ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

“Our employees are loyal to us, they stay with us for the long-term and they contribute to the success of our organization. Their work deserves to be highlighted and I am very proud that we are able to support them and provide a positive workplace environment,” concluded Tim Lambert.
