Partnerships that strengthen Canada’s egg sector

Canadian egg farmers do their best work with strong partners beside them. That’s why Egg Farmers of Canada collaborates with a network of partners across the country and around the world, working together to exchange ideas and drive innovation. Here’s a snapshot of the work of five of our partners helping to strengthen the Canadian egg sector.

1. Provincial and territorial egg boards

Like Canada itself, the egg industry is built on a federated model—one that balances national unity with regional autonomy. Each province and the Northwest Territories have their own egg board. These boards are the direct link between farmers and the decision-makers in their regions. They advance local priorities and initiatives, support farmers where they live and ensure the Canadian egg sector stays connected across the country.

2. Canadian Federation of Agriculture

The Canadian Federation of Agriculture is a national voice for Canadian farmers. Today, it represents approximately 190,000 farm families nationwide. No matter what farmers grow or raise, their interests are aligned: ensuring rural Canada has a strong, unified voice to best meet the needs of Canadian households that want Canadian food produced on Canadian farms.

3. Canadian Centre for Food Integrity

The Canadian Centre for Food Integrity helps Canadians better understand how food is produced and how the people behind it work together to meet evolving needs. Part of our work together includes the Canada’s Food System initiative that aims to connect Canadians to the food system, raising the profile of the complex network that delivers food to Canadian tables. Through collaborative projects like Our Food. Our Future docuseries, Canada’s Food System, actively elevates public trust by highlighting the innovative and sustainable practices used on farms from coast to coast.

4. World Egg Organisation

Canadian egg farmers are connected to the global egg community through the World Egg Organisation. This group brings together egg farmers, processors and industry leaders from around the world to share research, discuss emerging trends and strengthen the future of egg farming globally. Through this partnership, Egg Farmers of Canada exchanges ideas with international peers and stays informed about issues affecting the broader egg sector. The World Egg Organisation also supports programs focused on young leaders, nutrition and sustainability in egg farming.

5. World Farmers’ Organisation

Canadian egg farmers are also part of a broader global farming community through the World Farmers’ Organisation. This brings together national farm groups and agricultural cooperatives from around the world to share knowledge, strengthen farmers’ voices and support policies that help farming communities succeed. The World Farmers’ Organisation works across many priority areas, including trade, food systems, sustainability and rural development, helping farmers learn from one another and respond to shared challenges facing agriculture today.
