This World Egg Day, we’re saying thank you

Every year Canada’s egg farmers celebrate World Egg Day—but there’s never been a year quite like 2020. World Egg Day is the global celebration of the small but mighty egg. This year, we’re also celebrating all the champions—the hard-working Canadians who work together to deliver fresh, high-quality food every day.

From farm to fork, the egg supply chain has remained strong in 2020. Canadian egg farmers work with many partners to deliver fresh, local, high-quality eggs to Canadians. That’s why this World Egg Day, we’re expressing our gratitude for their work. When it mattered most, they delivered. Let’s raise an egg to thank the Canadians who produce our food.

Watch our World Egg Day video:

Across Canada, more than 1,100 egg farmers produce the eggs Canadians want and enjoy. You’ll find them in every province and the Northwest Territories delivering local food for their neighbours. And wherever you find Canadian egg farmers, you’ll find community leaders. Our farmers believe in giving back. That’s one reason why Canada’s egg farming sector stepped up in a big way this year, donating millions of eggs to food banks across the country.

Recent events have put a spotlight on the importance of doing what we can to support our friends, neighbours and community members. Canadians are supporting each other, and egg farmers are proud to play their part.
